To visit Iran, all nationalities are required to obtain a visa. All European Union passport holders can travel independently to Iran and get a 30 day visa upon their arrival (this cannot be extended). UK, US & Canada citizens currently can NOT get a visa on arrival at the airport. They need to travel as part of an escorted group or private tour, with an official guide during their entire stay in Iran. The itinerary needs to be pre-arranged, hotels pre-booked and paid for and the visa should be obtained in advance.

How to get the visa and the confirmation document?

Step I
Send us the information and documents specified in the list below:

  1. Scanned copy of the data page of the passport, in colour and with good quality
    2. Full name
    3. Last name
    4. Name of the father (given name)
    5. Place of birth (Country)
    6. Marital status
    7. Second or prior nationality, if applicable
    8. Profession (if retired, profession prior to retirement)
    9. Company of employment
    10. Where do you want to pick up your passport? (The Iranian embassy or an international airport of Iran?)
    11. Whether you have previously travelled to Iran, if yes, how many times? What is the date of the last entry into Iran?
    12. Reason for your trip? (tourism, business, etc.)
    13. Scanned copy of biometric passport photograph (3×4)

Important note:

Please note that only scanned copies of travel passport and biometric passport photographs would be accepted. (Do not send a low-resolution photocopy of the above named items.)

The passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Iran.

Step II

To start your visa application process we need the above information for the ministry of foreign affairs. It takes around 10 working days to get a response from them. We will send you the confirmation document with which you can obtain your visa either at the consulate in your country of your choice or upon your arrival at the airport in Iran.

Important note:

Please ensure to inform the travel agency about the preferred consulate for visa pickup at the beginning of the application process.

Step III

The visa fee ranges from 50 to 120 euros per person for a tourist visa which can only be paid to the consulate upon the collection of the visa. If you intend to obtain a visa at the airport in Iran, we would also send you a letter confirming the visa with the corresponding number. Visa fees must be paid at the airport upon arrival.

Important note:

Visa issuance is also possible at the Iranian airports without prior application. But such a visa only has a validity of maximum 15 days. This applies to nationals of the following countries:
